Executive Coaching
Whether you are feeling stuck in your current role, approaching a career transition, or simply want to be the best, I believe that applying a creative mindset helps to edit out unhelpful habits, realise career goals, bring core abilities into focus, and overcome short-term issues at work.
An EMCC-accredited coach, I have over 200 hours of coaching behind me. Through my unique approach, which sees working life as a creative project, I pride myself in helping clients move beyond blocks that can appear in any career.

Consulting and
Team Coaching
The pace of change today is unrelenting. In my consulting and team coaching I challenge businesses to search for their true value. For example, when AI has driven efficiency and productivity to the max, what is your core offering?
This approach is geared around unlocking those aspects of any organisation or team that makes them special, and then exploring how to build on them at scale.
Whether as a strategy day, advisory relationship, or series of team coaching sessions, I aim to ensure that after working with me, you have the utmost clarity about how to maximise your unique strengths to deliver quantifiable growth.
About
Founded by EMCC-accredited coach Tim Whiting, Whiting Executive Leadership Ltd is committed to helping individuals and businesses navigate professional challenges.

A note from Tim:

I have successfully completed the Diploma in Professional Coach-Mentoring with The OCM - a course that holds the Global Quality Award, conferred by the EMCC.
Before becoming a coach, I spent 27 years in corporate publishing, latterly as Executive Publisher and Managing Director. During my publishing career, I worked with significant writers, public figures and thought leaders such as Dominic Sandbrook, Baroness Dambisa Moyo, Gillian Tett, Lord Mervyn King, Walter Isaacson, Thomas Friedman, Tim Harford, Mark Urban, Tali Sharot, Evan Davis, Richard Koch and Edward Luce.

As well as working as a coach, I still work directly with a small number of authors, helping them to shape their books and book proposals. I am also a Chair Partner of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and a Board Trustee at Books Beyond Words.

I am married with four children and live in London.

‘Tim was recommended to me by a colleague. He’s an excellent listener: knowing when to let someone follow a train of thought without interruption and when to make perceptive comments or ask questions to shape better understanding. He challenged me constructively using clear explanations of psychological theory to illustrate principles, and I’ve discovered far more than I expected about optimising ways of interacting with people and developing my self-control. I can confidently say that Tim has made a real difference to my understanding of human thought processes and how I can make use of that understanding to be a more effective leader. I can’t recommend him highly enough.’
Julian Ainley, HMRC, Deputy Director
'Tim created and facilitated a fantastic Away Day format for my Publishing team. He listened thoughtfully to my wishes for the meeting and then translated that brilliantly into a really hard-working agenda for the day. His format for the day had ideal pace and energy, with each component building on the last. Through the day he fostered a well-judged balance of positivity and challenge. Notably we ended with clear and achievable collectively-agreed priorities. Tim also crucially did a follow-up debrief with me which enabled me to round off the whole exercise with written actions.'
Rowan Yapp, Head of Lifestyle, Bloomsbury Publishing
'Working with Tim over several coaching sessions has had a genuinely positive impact on me, both professionally and personally. He helped me gain valuable perspective on how to make the most of my current role while also taking practical, structured steps to explore what might be next. Tim has a real talent for asking insightful questions and challenging your thinking in a constructive way. He encouraged me to look beyond surface-level reactions and understand the drivers behind them, which has been hugely helpful in my decision-making and self-awareness.
I came away from each session with greater clarity, confidence, and tangible tools I could apply straight away. I’d happily recommend Tim to anyone looking for a coach who brings warmth, intelligence, and a genuinely thoughtful approach to helping you move forward with purpose.'
